Dr. Terry McClafferty - Member Representative
Terry McClafferty has been the Regional Manager of Western - Kalgoorlie-Boulder for the past four years, and has taken an active role in tourism by membership of the Goldfields Tourism Association Inc. and the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Tourist Centre Inc boards of management. He received his training in visitor studies in the USA and has used his skills to improve the visitor experience at the Museum, Scitech Discovery Centre, Perth; and Questacon, Australias Science Centre in Canberra. During the past two years he has assisted tourism in the Goldfields by working for the restructuring of the associations with the dissolution of the GTA, and the transferring of its activities to the Visitor Centre. Further, he has provided assistance to other important operators, for example, the Golden Quest Trail Inc., by providing advice on methods to measure the success of their programs. Terry believes that by working with operators and having a Visitor Centre that is driven by e-commerce with increased on-line services, tourism will grow in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Australian Museum
