For some people, when they think of the Goldfields, red dirt and mining spring straight to mind. In fact, Kalgoorlie Boulder is situated on the edge of the Great Western Woodlands and has some of the most amazing green spaces in the region. One of the lushest spots around is the wonderful Kalgoorlie Golf Course.

The Kalgoorlie Golf Course is a premier, 18-hole grass golf course designed by top course designer Graham Marsh. It is currently ranked #18 in Australia's top 100 Public access courses.

The course has always been popular with tourists and golf enthusiasts but some recent changes are encouraging locals to make the most of the course too. From Monday 5th June, under 12's play for free with a paying adult and can hire clubs at no extra charge. A great way to get the kiddies into golf from a young age. In addition, if you're a Kalgoorlie local you'll benefit from reduced green fees.

We're not a formal bunch here in the Goldfields and this is being reflected on the course with a new, more relaxed dress code. If you have enclosed shoes and are being SunSmart you'll fit right in. There have also been some improvements to the driving range with some new novelty targets for extra fun.

After you've played the course, you can enjoy a delicious meal or sundowner drink at the Waterhole Bar and Bistro. They have a brand-new menu which features a range of pub classics and mod Oz cuisine. An early evening drink overlooking the lake is the perfect place to unwind and spot the local roos!
