Be the first to walk Kalgoorlie's Heart of Gold Discovery Trail at a free community event on Saturday 9 June 2018!

Embark on a gold adventure with us on Kalgoorlie’s first virtual trail with augmented reality, remarkable audio stories, fun widgets, vivid videos, timeless photos and interactive games via the free Heart of Gold Australia app.

The official ceremony will take place at the Kalgoorlie Town Hall from 9.30am (AWST), with the starting point of the trail marked by the unveiling of a Perth Mint sponsored replica gold bar outside Market Arcade at 10am.

Trailblazers may then embark on the self-guided interactive journey through the gold mining town, where they will discover 11 landmarks and locations of golden significance through Kalgoorlie’s city centre to the Museum of the Goldfields.

Once completing the trail at the Museum on launch day, discoverers can claim their commemorative Heart of Gold medallion and the first 250 will also receive a #heartofgold hat and Perth Mint gold phone cover!

With the chance to meet famous sporting personalities, enter social media competitions, join in gold themed activities, and receive golden giveaways, there will be something for everyone.

The new trail and community launch event coincides with Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s 125th anniversary celebrations as we remember one of the biggest gold rushes in Australia’s history.

This is a Gold Industry Group community initiative sponsored by The Perth Mint, Saracen Mineral Holdings, Gold Fields Australia, Northern Star Resources, Silver Lake Resources, Ausdrill, St Barbara, Gold Road Resources, City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Mining Education Australia.
