Sunsets
Ask any local and they'll tell you - our days here finish off with possibly the most striking and mesmerising sunsets one may ever see! Weather conditions permitting, of course. Look to the west in the early evening and take in the reds, oranges, yellows, pinks, purples and blues. We thank you, Mother Nature, for making dusk in the Goldfields such a picturesque event.

Zapping up a Storm
Many "non-locals" aren't aware that electrical storms in the Goldfields are quite common, often bringing cool relief to a hot day. Residents of the region tend to get rather excited at the news of an impending thunderstorm, with both professional and amateur photographers all pointing their cameras toward the sky. If you're lucky enough to witness one of these amazing electrical storms, we suggest you do the same to ensure these striking moments are captured for eternity.

Super Pit Blasts
This sight really is sure to blow your mind! Currently, the Super Pit is approximately 3.5 kilometres long, 1.5 kilometres wide and 370 metres deep. Blasting in the pit occurs regularly and can be viewed from the Public Lookout (which is open from 7:00am to 7:00pm daily). While advance notice of blasting is given where possible, for the most up to date information, telephone the public enquiry line on (08) 9022 1100.

Architecture
The architecture throughout Kalgoorlie Boulder is just oozing character and charm. You can just feel the living history of the gold rush through the magnificent colonial architecture of Kalgoorlie Boulder. The grand buildings continue to operate as town halls, banks, hotels and shops. Wander the wide pavement, camera ready, to capture this vibrant oasis in the desert.
