Who owns copyright of First Nations language material? Can traditional knowledge (TK) be copyrighted? What about intellectual property (IP)? What is intellectual property and cultural knowledge (ICIP) and are these protected under legislation?
If you are not sure of these answers, come along to the Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre's 3-hour course on copyright, TK, and ICIP.
This 3-hour course will cover the Commonwealth Copyright Act, National Protocols for Using First Nations Cultural and Intellectual Property in the Arts, as well as the Indigenous Arts Code. Learn how to use the legislation and the guides to ensure lawful adherence to copyright, IP and TK when working in the First Nations field, through workshopping with these documents.
The course is suitable for people in culture and the arts, education, native title, language, as well as people who would like to understand this complex field and how it relates to First Nations copyright, TK and ICIP.
All course material is supplied. The cost is $110 inc GST per person.
