This training course provides participants with a broad view of Goldfields Aboriginal culture and history. It also covers contemporary life, social matters, theories and frameworks for addressing personal cultural competency. The final section of the course looks at the skills, attitudes and knowledge that a culturally competent person should exhibit. The course is a very full day with discussions, games and films.
Participants should have a good cultural awareness prior to undertaking the course. This course builds on that understanding by addressing personal cultural competency.
