- At St Barbara's Square
Join us for the grand reopening of St Barbara's Square on Sunday, 3 December from 9am.
The Kal City Centre project revitalised this key precinct, designed to be a hub for families, locals, businesses, and tourists, and boasting a range of features aimed at creating a vibrant urban space.
St Barbara's Square now includes one of WA’s largest First Nations art installations, a nature playground, a water play area inspired by the Goldfields landscape, event spaces and entertainment areas, alfresco dining, gardens, and accessible toilet facilities. The square pays homage to Kalgoorlie's history with a climbing structure shaped like a silky pear, symbolising the Karlkurla fruit from which Kalgoorlie's name originates.
The re opening of St Barbara's Square coincides with her iconic namesake parade, and the upcoming festive season.
