To celebrate International Museums Day and the WA Heritage Festival, we’re running a one-off tour digging into the story of the Goldfields Woodlines

These timber railways kept the mines going. More than 90% of the workers were southern and eastern European migrants, doing hard, physical work in brutal conditions.

Families packed up and followed the wood, building tough, close-knit communities in the scrub - held together by their endurance, adaptability and shared purpose.
