Kirsty dreams of a better life, far away from the isolation of the Scottish Hebrides.  When her lover Murdo is conscripted to fight in WWI, a road dance is held in their honour. But the night of fun turns to a night of horror for Kirsty, & as Murdo leaves she's left to deal with the consequences of a vile act against her & faces an uncertain future.
