We are excited to announce a new program to support household organic recycling.
Reducing organic waste at home is so important, and we want to encourage our residents to learn more about how to do this.
As part of this initiative we will be:
• Hosting quarterly educational workshops about reducing organic/food waste, worm farming, composting and more
• Introducing a rebate scheme for the purchase of worm farms and compost bins
We have the incredible Peg Davies coming to Kalgoorlie-Boulder to host the first workshop in the series, which are all FREE for Kalgoorlie-Boulder residents.
These one-hour sessions will be led by Peg, who will teach you how to get the most out of your worm farm, compost bin, or bokashi bin, as well as offer her insider knowledge on cutting down on food waste. There will be enough opportunity to speak with Peg and learn everything there is to know about waste reduction.
Peg has been urging people to "rethink waste" for most of her life. She is a waste educator with more than 13 years of experience teaching local governments, schools, and the community about waste avoidance.
Visit Peg's website at https://www.lessenwithpeg.com to learn more about her or watch her on Gardening Australia.
