Fused Glass & Slumped Serving Dish & Coasters Workshop

An introductory glass fusing workshop. In this art fusing glass workshop, you will discover a new medium and have fun creating your very own fused glass serving dish and a set of coasters! Your instructor will go over the different types of glass and give you a brief rundown on glass for fusing, including System 96 which you will be using to create your pieces. You will be shown the different forms of glass as well as examples of opaque and translucent coloured glass so you can develop your piece. Basics of glass construction will be covered, including how to cut and clean glass, breaking, shaping and designing with glass and also OH&S. You will use the glass provided to design and create your plate and coasters. The serving dish and coasters will then be fused together and then the serving dish will be slumped. Fusing is when 2 or more layers of glass are heated (or fused) together. Slumping is when that fused piece is heated in a mould to change its shape ie to slump into a shape.

The finished pieces will be available for collection at least 1 week after the workshop. A message will be sent when items are ready for collection. Suitable 18+ BYO
